The 411 for Macs in Alaska
How does it do that?
So, you have an iPhone - great! But, have you ever wondered how this high-tech tool (or in some circles toy) actully works? How does it know where you are? Does the screen go off then you bring the phone to your ear during a telephone call - and if so, how do it know?
Well, Jon Brandon from Computerworld.com explains all in this article.
It is a good read - I hope that you enjoy it And your iPhone.
What? My iPhone can print!Yes readers, it IS true - you can print from your iPhone! I recently learned about a product - Print & Share ($6.99) from Eurosmartz that enable the lowly iPhone to print - you can even mount it as a network drive and move files to and fro! This little gem allows the user to load files onto one's iPhone and play them (an mp3 file played using Quicktime versus iTunes) or open them (Microsoft Office documents are supported). There are two pieces to this miracle - the iPhone app and the desktop program - the desktop program is available for Mac and Windows and is free and it allow the iPhone to print and to share files. I highly recommend this program to anyone who has want to carry alone a file, or who has wanted to print from the iPhone.

Snow Leopard ComethHere somes Snow Leopard - ready or not! Apple has stated that they will begin selling Snow Leopard in September - as you might remember Snow Leopard is the follow on product to Leopard, and apparently it will only cost $29 to upgrade. This price presumes that you have Leopard, for unlike earlier OS upgrades which would upgrade most previous OSs the $29 upgrade only upgrades Leopard. If perchance you have Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) or earlier, you will need to buy the much more expensive ($169 at Amazon.com) Mac Box Set of Snow Leopard - this set does include iLife and iWork, but still a big price difference between the two. I'm waiting to see if Apple will offer a first day option, whereby you will have the software on its release date if you buy from Appl - watch this space for updates.
