Here somes Snow Leopard - ready or not!

Apple has stated that they will begin selling Snow Leopard in September - as you might remember Snow Leopard is the follow on product to Leopard, and apparently it will only cost $29 to upgrade. This price presumes that you have Leopard, for unlike earlier OS upgrades which would upgrade most previous OSs the $29 upgrade only upgrades Leopard.

If perchance you have Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) or earlier, you will need to buy the much more expensive ($169 at Amazon.com) Mac Box Set of Snow Leopard - this set does include iLife and iWork, but still a big price difference between the two.

I'm waiting to see if Apple will offer a first day option, whereby you will have the software on its release date if you buy from Appl - watch this space for updates.
